Now while for baseball that would be a pretty decent average, when it comes to mentoring students becoming certified PHI's, it's, in my opinion, abysmal. Two of my students recently went for the examinations and I just found out that both of them failed. Making it even worse is the student I had that did pass I thought wasn't going to, while the two I thought would didn't. Go figure.

Is it a reflection of their mentor? I think so. I feel like that parent that has failed their child. Sucks.

Blah.

The Other Side Of The Fence Don't Look Bad

If I was single and had lower tolerance for the opposite sex, maybe the other side wouldn't look so bad. Unrelated to all of this was me training a room full of women today, with all of them questioning every topic I presented. Really...unrelated...

I Can See Clearly Now...

...that we got new windows! It's looking alrighty. Now we gotta paint. Woah.

I can also clearly see how much work at my actual work I gotta do still. I'm actually going to start doing work at home. Triple woah.

Sweet N' Sour Balls Of Heaven

Something about sweet n' sour chicken balls I really like. While not your classical Chinese food, it certainly satisfies my guylow Chinese cravings. Yum...

Ensuite bathroom is finally gutted, and ready to go. Prolly in a couple of months. Sigh.

Good news, though, is that we are getting our new windows tomorrow and Tuesday. Bad news, though, is the cost. Yikes

Diptastic

So we went to Donaldo and Robin's apartment in Toronto for a little shindig, and Robin made this dip that was fantastic. So good, in fact, that it warranted a Title to this post. Good people they are...hope they get married soon!

As Predicted...

...traffic chaos! First snowfall of the year, and it took me 1.5 hours to get to work.

One thing I'll miss about living at my parents house is the proximity of it to the highway. Since I was going north, and not a lot of cars go north, a day like this would only take me about 33 minutes to get to work (normal time would be about 23-27 minutes). But now that I live at my new house, and I take main roads to get to work (and of course people don't know how to drive in the snow), the commute which normally lasts 30 minutes took me 1.5 hours today. Ay nako!

Destructo With Cuts

So I spent the better part of yesterday dismantling my master bath. I now have cuts on my fingers. I'm such the handyman.

I Like To Break Things

Like my Master Bathroom. It's disguised as work, but I don't mind because it's an outlet for other things (like real work).

...neck. Painting a ceiling will do that to you.

I think, hopefully, by tomorrow, we're finally gonna be able to move into our Master Bedroom. Right. We'll see.

A sad moment at work today: found out a colleague that was expecting in April lost her baby. She'll be away for the next couple of weeks, understandably.

I'm gonna be mighty stressed and busy at work.

Things I Don't Like (18 hrs. Edition)

In the past 18 hrs., I have identified that I don't like:

-the movie Beowulf. It kinda sucked, actually. Maybe I was expecting too much
-painting a stippled ceiling with oil-based paint

On the other hand, I have identified that I do like:

-a Keg steak

-Raptors on HDTV

Okay, Yeah...

...basketball dreams got deflated today.

We lost by 30 and I scored exactly ZERO points. I even got to the free throw line for the first time in my life, and I missed both of them.

Clutch I'm not.

Gotta shake it off and try to do better next week.

This Is What Happens...

...when you play the lottery sometimes with the same numbers. You check the results and then you find out that the numbers you usually play match 4 of 6 numbers. The week you don't play.

Sure I would've won $76, but I'm going to have to think of this rationally; it's money I never had in the first place.

Now if it was 5 of 6 numbers...oh man.

I think I'll stop checking the results.

H D Baby

Got the new HDTV box today and I gotta say...I'm not that impressed. I mean, it does look clearer than the other channels, but something seems to get lost along the way when you realize that the non-HD channels now look worse than when they were with regular Digital Cable.

But whatever, I'm sure I'm going to start really loving the HD

Facebook Makes Me Tired

So I posted some wedding pics on the Mukahbook. It took a long while. I'm tired today as a result. Well that and the fact I continue to go on my downward spiral of unhealthy eating. Gotta stop and take stock...

After cleaning out the fish pond today and nearly losing my fingers to frostbite, I think it has sunk in that the fish responsibility (which is big; trust me on this) might be too great a burden for us. So I think we're either gonna sell it or eat it. (I'm just joking! Man...of course we wouldn't sell them)

I dealt with a bunch of knobs today -- that is, doorknobs. I'm proud to say that the majority of the doors on the upstairs level now has doorknobs. And all it took was four months!

Watching this season of Raptors ball is leaving me uneasy again. Why can't they play a game and it feel like they actually have control of the game? I hate the losing...man these 11 years of fandom seem to be taking a toll on me.

Getting High

Unintentionally. I was cementing the ABS pipes under the leaking sink, and man-oh-man that cement is some crazy toxic stuff. All I kept thinking about were those really bored kids who would sniff glue.

That is, we lost by 20 points in our game today, much better (but not by much) than the 30 point drubbing we had last week. I did score 9 points, but I also had some horrendous air balls that always leaves you feeling embarassed. Argh.

We're starting to gel as a team, but man oh man...it's hard when we don't have size vertically. Oh there's a bunch of us that are getting bigger horizontally, but we need height.

With Thanks To My Wife

So the leaking toilet that discouraged me greatly was determined to be due to a hairline crack. I was left thinking that we had to buy a new tank because we no longer had the box for it. Due to my wife's persistence in saying we could exchange it, we brought it to Home Depot where they exchanged it no questions asked. Woah. Score!

Of course it does nothing to help with the fact there is damage in the basement now due to the leak. Oh well

Time To Make That Commitment Again

I have to. There are so many things to complain about, that if I keep doing it I'll begin to get annoyed at myself even more. It's not worth it.

One last complaint before I go on this seemingly hopeless journey: I hate having this fragile psyche...I want to toughen up.

I stopped swearing (for the most part)...I can do this...right?

Went again with the workmates to Firehall in Oakville for wings. Yummy.

It's not really a good way to start the whole "eating properly after finding out I gained 4 lbs." thing, but at least I tempered it by going to basketball practice today and sweating my bollocks off.

It's Back On

The morning basketball games with Clavo at the Y, that is. Good thing he got his job back...now I can practice ball and try to get into shape again (I gained 4 lbs...sucks!).

I also realized that the people I work with now...yeah...I'm going to be irked a lot in the future. Be warned there will be a lot of complaining in the near future

Where Did That Come From?

All of a sudden I just realized I have all sorts of work at work to do now. I'm gonna be pretty stressed out for the next little while. I would love to say, "no pain, no gain" but the unfortunate reality is, well...it's not really recognized in Government. Oh well.

The lack of sun isn't doing anything to make things better either.

Wow I'm awfully complainey. I'll think about something more pleasant. Like I'm married! Yay!

Of Course

First basketball game of the season for me, and of course I sprained my pinky finger. Hurts as heck. Oh yeah, and we lost...by 30. I did hit my only shot (three pointer). I think I better be more aggresive next game, barring the "plays" that the other guys on the team insist we work on don't further confuse me.
