Will I Survive?

It's the start of the work-week for me today, and I have Friday off. Why am I worried that I won't survive it though? Not that I'm dramatic or anything. I think I'm just mentally fatigued.

Engagement Sale

So we piggybacked on Arfeli's "Engagement Sale". Feli even wore a tiara and veil for the occasion. And success! We sold a bunch of stuff we weren't using in the house, including the dreaded stovetop. Now all that's left is the refrigerator and my beloved recumbent bike.

We sold everything but the kitchen sink! But that's because I have to finish installing it. No, really, I have to finish installing the kitchen sink. I got the faucet working; all that's left is the drain.

Rock(ed It Out) Of Ages

So we watched Rock of Ages and it was way less than half-bad. In other words, it was better than half-good.

The story was "eh" but the music was pretty okay. It felt like a singalong. The only problem? The lead guy was from Quebec and when he sang I couldn't help but think of Roch Voisine. And the lead girl was Maria from Sound of Music and when she sang I couldn't help but think of...Maria.

But otherwise, not too bad soundtrack (apparently I'm white with tight jeans that are bedazzled and I have big hair):

Theory Vs. Practice

So there's a heatwave going on right now. We turned on the a/c, but it was still much too warm upstairs.

So I had the brilliant idea of...sleeping in the basement! I got the air mattress and sleeping bag ready, along with the pillows. In theory, this sounded like a great idea.

Then I got to the actual "trying to sleep part". Didn't work. The sleeping bag was too hot. Took off the sleeping bag, it was too cold. Went upstairs to sleep, then it was too hot. Frustrating I tell you.

As I've been saying for years, my tropical genetics that would help me cope with this heat? I think it got lost somewhere mid-flight

Forgot that it could get insufferably hot and humid here. I mean, it wasn't like that today (just hot and humid), but so far this summer has not seen the dreaded heat wave yet.

So I did what any sensible fatso would do: stay indoors in my cold house. Way to live it up there chubbs!
