Heppy Birts Ma Bubs

So it's my darling wife's 30th Birfday today. Wow, that's old. I wish I never get that old (mentally). But whatever, I still love her.

Too bad she'll be nervous all day because her testing for her black belt is tonight (I can still beat her up though). Good luck and I'm proud of you Bubs!

There Was A Riot?

Because this is the only footage I think I'm going to remember from this G20 meeting this past weekend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fhGneV6rQg

Seriously, that jingle-chant is going to stay in my head for a while, not to mention guys trying to seduce stoic police officers. How the hell didn't those cops laugh?

MoLesterol (Or "ChoMoreSterol")

So I went for my checkup and what did I find out? Yup, the cholesterol is still high.

Oh well, I blame my Dad and his Dad and his Dad after that. It's hereditary after all.

Will that stop me from eating my favourite foods? Much to Sharon's dismay...nope

Up And At 'Em

Start of a new (and shortened work) week again...let's do this!

Don't Wanna Be (Watching) Grown-Up(s)

So we met with Carlina today, and watched "Grown-Ups". Yeah, pretty horrible movie in my opinion. We then went to Chili's. Pretty horrible as well.

But the company was good at least.

I don't want to go to work tomorrow...

Scenes From A Nups

So that was a fun time yesterday at MelRon's wedding. Highlights:

-being forced to take a shot after giving the greetings at the receiving line. Promptly breaking the shot glass on the floor followed by everyone staring and the groom laughing hysterically at me. You see, this is one of the plenty of reasons I don't drink
-wearing white shoes to a wedding. Oh, that's right
-high school reunion, and a real crazy flashback watching Melo, Liz, Nina and Riz do a Fiesta Filipina routine for the crowd
-Ron's family being absolutely drunk and crazy and loud and rowdy. Found it it's because they all had kids and none of them were there. Then it all made sense
-the food was awesome. Even awesomer? Sharon didn't really eat her steak. So it was steak x2 for me...yee-uh! Not to mention that I somehow finagled my way to the front of the line for the seafood buffet, and two half-lobsters later I was left wondering if I was allergic to it (my hands and wrists felt bloated and sensitive). Yeah, I think (I know) I ate too much last night
-watching my wife and friends literally take 20 shots throughout the night...and her not getting drunk at all (she was buzzing but she wasn't hammered like the other people were. I was hoping she would be hammered so I could take advantage of her. Nope.). Who knew? Then again she was drinking amongst Asians. So basically, what I cannot handle in alcohol she more than can. We complete each other, apparently

Good times...and now I'm going to complain that this weekend went by too fast

Kambal(s Are Ringing)

So one of my friends I've known the longest, Melanie, is getting married tomorrow with Ron. I was just going to say, "wow, I can't believe another is getting married" until I realized that we're 30 now.

What the heck is taking my other friends so long? (that's right, you)

(blahblahblah, you're getting married soon too, whatever. I just wanted to be dramatic)

FriYay

I've always been one not to celebrate the end of the week (time goes by too fast as it is), but this was an especially long work week.

So screw it, I'm happy it's Friday today. And on top of that, I have a massage from Rolando today after work. Yee-uh!

Hate To Sound Like A Broken Record

But really, what's up with pulling the long hours at work and not getting paid for it?

Oh, and there was an earthquake by the Ottawa/Quebec border today and it was felt by here. Someone in the meeting today was wondering what all the shaking was; I knew it was the ground shaking. Second time in my life I felt the ground move...kind of crazy.

Apocalypse now?

And Then It Was 5:00pm

Time goes by fast when you feel stressed at work. Apparently you really do have to juggle a bunch of things when you're a Supervisor*

I Can Do This...Right?

First day back to work after a week off is always tough.

Especially when I know I have a crap-load of stuff waiting for me on my desk.

Can I just win the lottery already?

But whateves...time to think positively again!

Nuts For Nutella

You know you love Nutella when you spend 7 minutes scraping the sides of the container with a spoon just so you could get a tiny morsel of the wonderful flavour in your mouth.

I think I might have a problem with that

Why Was This Song Going On In My Head?

Well, I was doing baseboards in the kitchen and it was turning out surprisingly well. Have I found my new career? Will I be more like Joseph, less like Karen?

Hell no.

I suck at it...lol

Feeling Gassy

With our now-functioning stove! Yee-uh!

Danny passed by at 10:45pm (yes, that late), and an hour later the stove is working.

The kitchen is just humming along now. Just gotta get the counters (2-3 weeks), install sink and dishwasher, backsplash and paint, and half a year later, we gots ourselves a new kitchen. Was it worth it?

Once I cook them Ramen Noodles in it it sure will be. Of course I could cook that on the camping stove, but that's besides the point

Lose Change (Holder)

Two downfalls of the Wonderland trip from yesterday?

1. I lost my change holder I've had for about 10 years. It was ratty and tatty and Sharon hated it, but I liked it. Now it, and the other things in it that I kept (not so much the $5 or so dollars in change that was in it but the 50 cent coin and the fortune cookie fortunes I kept in there) are gone. Oh well, it's just stuff

2. Major case of the dizzies as I tried to close my eyes last night. It seems I'm really averse to jarring movements and take well to motion sickness. Yargh

Wonderland? More Like (Ten)derland

Ten as in the number of hours we spent at Canada's Wonderland, apparently trying to relive our youth. What did we find out in the end? We're not as young as we used to be.

Got there at 10:00am, when the park opened. Lots of middle school/elementary school kids. Great, I thought. Line ups (one of my biggest pet peeves in life).

But after two hours and four roller coasters later, I thought it wasn't too bad. What was bad, though? I felt like throwing up. I don't think my body is used to/can't take it anymore.

Luckily Kevuth and the kids (sans Talitha) came, so we had a break from the extreme rides and went on a bunch of kids rides. Wonderland really is for the kids now. But we had a blast...I love those damn kids.

Yes, I am pregnant

Then we left the park, ate at Williams Coffee Pub for dinner, then went back to the park where it turned into my kind of Wonderland: no line-ups! We polished off another 6 coasters in two hours! We also went to White Water Canyon, where Sharon got soaked (okay, that was more fun for me than her).

I didn't seem to heed the advice of Kiri, who told me that the lineups are a good thing because it gives your brain time to settle down. I think she was right.

All-in-all, good day. We didn't have funnel cake, but we did have chipwich's.

Oh, and I also seem to have acquired vertigo now. I know what I'll be dreaming of tonight.

Falling down

Counter Argument

So the cabinets are all done, and they look awesome...now we just have to get some countertops. We went looking today, and have decided on going with Quartz (boojee in the house).

One company gave us a pretty unbelievable quote (I'm thinking it's a typo), but it's on paper so it looks like we may go with them. And with a turnaround time of 2 weeks, we are getting pretty damn excited to get our kitchen back.

But first? Tomorrow, we go to Canada's Wonderland! Haven't been since Wondergrad. Holy crap we're old. So old, we're going with kids (Ruthie and the girls). Chocolate Chip Ice Cream Sandwich and Funnelcake, here we come

Pupu-Time!

I think Sivia's Mom puts cocaine/crack in these pupusas, because I can't stop ordering them. This is a great vaykay so far!

And the cabinets are looking boss right now. That's right, boss

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like...Kitchen!

First day of the cabinet install, and our cabinet installer, Wojtek, is flying. Looking awesome and we're getting excited...until we realize that the countertops are not there yet.

But at least the kitchen is not bare anymore!

Oh yeah, and vacation finally starts now

Whole Lotta Nothing On A Lazy Sunday

I don't think I'm used to this vacation thing yet. Feeling restless even though I didn't do much today. I'll get used to it after I go to work tomorrow for some training (boo for not an entire week off, but better than nothing).

Cabinets start getting installed tomorrow...yee-uh!
