14 Hours, Too Much Pirates

In the span of 14 hours, I watched all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies. Not that I'm complaining too much or anything, but it was a swashbuckling good time.

My what lovely eyes you have
I wish it was socially acceptable to wear a pirates hat. I'd rock that no problem.
Actually the movie sorta made me want to go boating. Sort of.
Then I remembered I wasn't rich.
* * *
Tomorrow begins the week of craziness...Gil's getting married on Saturday and I have a bunch of family coming over. Spent the day today doing some renovations and whatnot. I can only imagine what will happen during my wedding.

Yikes.

2007 PCWF

Worked today at the Peel Children's Water Festival for some obertyme. Together with Kathie, Doreen and Melissa, we were the BBQ-Crew. Lots of fun pretending we worked at Lick's.
Ruthie and her baby also passed by, and as always Trinity was crazy cute. Not to mention the fact she likes me and doesn't cry when I hold her, currently she ranks as my favourite baby.
I think I'll cook some steaks tonight.

Ya...Is Yummy

That's what I said after eating Vienna Schnitzel for lunch today with Tabico and Rowie:
"And then I ate the plate!"
Seeing as how I had to eat something healthy afterwards, I reluctantly ate this:
The name would be funny if you took out the "TOSOS"
Surprisingly, for something so healthy, it's damn good!

Lovely

Not the smoggy weather that I absolutely abhor, but rather the massage I received today. Much appreciated...ahhh

Random Thought:

In less than 5 months is our wedding. I dunno, I think there is a lot of stuff to do and help out with Sharon, but apparently things are somewhat set.
It's gonna come fast. Yikes...I hope I'm prepared.

Foray Into Modelinay

So Sharon and I had our engagement photos today, and it was fun. I always wondered what it was like to be a model.
I still don't, but it was fun nonetheless.
Plus our photographer is great, much better than that other dud we had.
* * *
So my Grade 9 gym teacher has been suspended from my high school due to an "inappropriate relationship" with a 17 year old student. This said teacher also has more than 7 kids. Crazy!

Cold, But Relaxing

Describes the weekend camping trip to Ahmic. Slept a lot, ate good, good company, can't complain. Well, except for the hypothermia.
And the rush begins again...

First Camping Trip Of The Year

This trip's theme: minimilism.

Let's see how well that goes.

Ahmic Lake here we come

Who Needs Sleep?

So the past couple of weeks I've been entrenched in watching the NBA Playoffs. Only problem? The West Coast games usually ends at 130am. Couple that with the fact that I wake up at 545am-ish to go to the gym, it results in me being quite the tired. I'll recharge this weekend, as Sharon and I will be going camping with Team Miknifer to Ahmic Lake (site of Sharon and my first trip together as a couple). If not, as I always say, "there will plenty of time to sleep when I die. I hope I could sleep...in hell"
* * *
Okay, so the last time I'll mention the 10km race. I can't help it though, because my hamies still hurt. But anywho, here are some very few pics Sharon took:
I always seem to have the same face...of constipation
Champion...retards

Bye Bye Rory

Okay, so I'm a gaylord that watched Gilmore Girls (although I missed most of this season due to the sub-parness of it all). One of the real, major reasons I watched it?

sigh and slurp
Anywho, it's the series finale tonight.
That is all. (oh yeah, I still want to make out with Rory)

Such A Hard Decision

Up to the last minute, Sharon and I are still deciding between propane and natural gas. Such a hard decision.
* * *
Got new student today; seemed bright. Despite that though, it's still gonna be a long summer...

51:09.3

Okay, so I was 1:09.4 off the mark I was really hoping for. I guess I have next year to look forward to? Blah. Kinda disappointed in myself.
* * *
Natural Gas or Propane? Another one of those really difficult choices in life...

Why Do I Do This?

Why do I run the Mississauga Marathon 10km race? I dunno, but I'm a glutton for pain apparently. My arches hurt, my hamies hurt, but overall I'm quite satisfied again.
I came a bit short of my 49 minute goal. How short? about a minute (I don't have the official time yet). Argh! I guess next year again will be my goal to break the 50 minute 10km (doesn't sound as glorious as the 4-minute mile, but whatever). More talking about this to come...

Grumpy Because Of White Socks

I was quite grumpy this morning. I wore white socks thinking I was going to wear my running shoes, but when I went to put them on, I realized my orthotics were in my black dress shoes. So without thinking, I wore my black dress shoes. Only when I was driving to work I realized my fashion faux-pas (and one of my big, big personal pet peeves). So I ended up "one of those guys" that doesn't know how to properly dress himself.
Next week will be the start of quite the busy-ness, as I am mentor to yet another student this summer. Yikes...I hope that she's gonna be a good one this year
* * *
And my countdown officially ends tomorrow. The Mississauga Marathon Canadian Tire 10K Run is tomorrow evening. While I didn't train that hard (or medium, for that matter) this year, I am confident I'll be fine. Where does this confidence come from? I have no idea.
I'd like to think my constant basketball playing every morning was somewhat training. Right...and so was my lack of eating junk food...

Green Peeps

I think Sharon and I are trying to be "environmental friendly" home-owners. It's quite expensive, though.
First on the list? Lawn mowers. I think a motorless one should be our choice.

Green, and it's green. Coincidence?

It's That Time Of Year Again

When everyone is going to hear me saying, "isss soooo hoooooot....im soooo stickyyyyy"
Sorry, that's what happens when you're fat.

ChristineChristineChristineChristine

For those of you that watched Phantom of the Opera (or as I liked to call it, "Phantom of the Screaming"; better than what Sharon calls it, "Phantom of the Sandpaper Voices"), maybe you'll know what I'm talking about. They said Christine's name at least 348 times in the play. Incidentely, I was wondering how the play would've been if the lead character's name was, say, Harjinder.
Where can he get a new one? Facebook!
Anyway, at the risk of sounding like I actually know something about theatre critiqueing (is that a word?), I thought the performance was something less than inspiring. Not knowing what the storyline was about going into the play, which I prefer, I was astonished at how...choppy the dialogue was. That is, when there was actual dialogue.
Most of the play was sung, which normally wouldn't be a bad thing, but we couldn't understand a word they were saying? Either the equipment was bad, or the actors were bad. My bet is a combination of both. Hip Hopera it felt.
As well, one of the "climax" parts of the show, where the chandelier is supposed to crash (don't read the preceeding if it's a spoiler to you) was more like a chandelier with a parachute on. And the roll call at the end? No music! It was an awkward feeling them bowing in, ummm...silence.
And my biggest pet peeve (and not talking just specifically about this particular play)? When the crowd gives an actor a standing ovation when I feel they don't deserve one. That's right, because what I think and feel is all that matters.
Not that I'm ranting or anything. I had a great date with my girl; just the show was somewhat of a letdown.

Phat-Toming

So for my birthday present (even though, according to her, we don't do that kind of thing) Sharon got tickets to the Phat Opera. Errr...Phantom of the Opera.

"Now where the heck did I leave my face..."
I'm excited! Haven't ever watched this critically-acclaimed show before, and always wanted to.
* * *
My excitement has been somewhat tempered though by news I found out from one of my friends at work; it's a possibility she'll be leaving the Department. Not only that, when she has a baby, she's planning on leaving permanently. While I would be very happy for her, for purely selfish reasons I wouldn't want to see her go. There are few people I genuinely like without reservations at work (or in life, for that matter), and she's one of them.
Oh well, nothing stays the same (that's not a dramatic overture at all)

One Of Those Feelings...

...it's about to get really busy and stressful the next couple of months. Yay!

I Am Not A Young Mother

Sorry...you might not like this blog.
* * *
Ran 10km today in preparation (better late than never) for my race this Saturday. Hopefully I'll be good. Found out a new secret: sleep! I have a lot more energy to run if I sleep. So I'll sleep a lot this Friday.

One Of The Best Weddings Ever

Super fun times with Sharon and my workmates at Kathie's wedding. I'll have to say that it ranks right up there as one of the funnest weddings, if not the funnest wedding I've ever been to.
It helps that the meat was the most tender and tastiest I ever (lamb chops for appetizer? wtf? That's the best idea ever). Also helps that the table I was sitting with (Team Tabico, Team Kirmesh, and Team Ruthvin) were great company (and drunk!).
Oh yeah, and the wedding itself? A beautiful outdoor ceremony at Graydon Hall. Kathie looked great and their speeches were funny.
And one of those "small world" moments was that Lizanor's friend and co-star in their short-lived GirlsTV show Makda was our waiter. Random.

Weddinging

Kathie Brown's wedding today...yipes...mine will be just around the corner

It Ends Like That?

Without even a last second shot? Oh well, the Raps exceeded my expectations this year, but it still hurts to see the season end like this.
I'll have to wait a long summer before next season (not that I have a choice or anything). Hopefully the team will be re-upped and looking better.
Oh yeah, watched the game with Sharon, Arvin, the Kambals and their friends Mina and Didi at Shoeless Joe's...nice venue. Must make mental note to go there next year again. Just not on Leaf's game days.
* * *
All these renovations in my parent's house coming fast and furiously. And it actually looks good! Crazyness

A Rather Funny Thing Happened...

But not to me. A funny thing happened to Sharon as she got out of her car yesterday. It involved a crow, her hair, and a crow flying into her hair.
Any other woman would be birdbrained
How the heck does that happen? Regardless, I'm happy it did happen, because it provided me minutes of laughter.
On top of that, she was worried she may have acquired West Nile Virus, which is funny to a Public Health Inspector who knows better.
I love her.

Hap Birfday Trannifer!

Almost, but not quite, forgot to wish the one reader (okay, I lie, maybe there are like, two readers of this blog) Happy Birthday! Yay! You're old!

I Think Some People Shouldn't Be Allowed Phones

That's what I thought as I fielded quite annoying phone calls today. Seriously, some people want to complain just to complain and about the stupidest things (kinda like what I'm doing right now).
Sometimes I hate people.

Let's Go Warriors!

Okay, so the Raps won today to prolong the (eventual) misery of them losing the series. I have now latched on as a bandwagon fan of the Golden State Warriors, who are playing some awesome ball. Baron Davis is King!

Sit Still!

I believe that's what I was shouting to myself today while I had a course. I can't though. I think it's physically unpossible for me to sit absolutely still for more than 14 seconds at a time. It's annoying, really.

Kickin' It Old School

So I went and did it; I bought myself a Crackberry. But it's not what you think...I went old school and bought the really old model (6230) that has none of the fancy-schmancy features.
Once you go black(berry), you never go back(berry)
It's interesting to think that this highly-advanced piece of technology is considered "old school" in just a matter of three years. But, it's great to think I got a brand new one at a really cheap price...yee-uh

Montrealed

To and from in 17 hours with the Lobo family. Perhaps the longest and shortest trip I've ever had.
At least I got to go to Simon's...looks like Argay and I are going to be making a trip there pretty soon again.

Hap Birfday Neens

To my dear friend Nina, who I'm sure is going to be pissed off I put up this picture of her:

I have such a natural smile
You're old!

Best Baby Ever...

...goes to my workmate Ruthie's cute-as-heck daughter, Trinity. Ruth brought her to work today, and I swear, this kid is the best. She smiles like crazy, is playful, and most importantly, doesn't cry when I hold her. In fact, I think she likes me (well, at least maybe she does...I played with her the whole time she was over and she didn't give me sour face). I have pictures of her on my work cell, but unfortunately I don't know how to get it off of there. So just know she's the cutest baby I met.
I hope our baby is going to turn out like that. I really, really hope.

BBQ Shopping

So I went with my Dad to Costco, Rona, and the Bay to look at BBQ's. The one I think would be good for Sharon and me is even "My Father-Approved" (My Father, being inherently cynical without meaning it, "approving" something is pretty significant to me). Now all I have to do is convince Sharon that this is a good BBQ (her argument against it would be "why do we need a side burner on the BBQ?" whereas my argument for, as most of my answers are, is "just because").
I wonder what barbequed lemonade tastes like
On an amusing note (as always, at least it's funny to me), I seem to find Filipino accented pronunciations of words funny. Case in point, my Dad saying the word "enamel." For example:

Me (looking at another grill I don't want): "Oh this is not a nice surface"
Dad: "Wat is dat? Oh dats not good...dats an e-nah-meal"

King Sized It Is!

I find it funny how our bed size we are going to buy for our house has been dictated by the size pillow we got, and only because it was on sale. Dang, with that rationale, I guess the TV we are going to buy will be dictated by the DVD I buy? (The movie "300"? I'll need a 50" TV for sure!)

Heart Disease

As a result of playoff basketball.
The Raptors are really lucky they won tonight. Hmmm...so am I. I haven't gone through such ups and downs since...well, maybe earlier today, but still.
I still don't, however, feel confident in this first round series though. I'll have a gauge of it after, say, the fourth game.

If The Raps Lose Tonight...

...you might catch a glimpse of a really, really sad Jason. Really.

Blah

How I feel at work today.

Meeting with the mortgage broker today. They call them a mortgage broker for a reason; I think I'm about to get broker.

Mongoled

Damn those Mongols make some good food. Went with half my University classmate team, Nicole, Melissa and Karen to Mongolian Grill at Pacific Mall. Good times and good food as always. Just too bad I had to miss this awesome weather BBQ Team Miknifer had, but there will be the whole summer (I assume).

* * *

My phone seems to be screwing up a bit lately. So I guess I just got a new excuse to buy a new phone! As if my credit card hasn't been beaten up enough, but whatever.

My Playoff Game Experience

In pictures:
Started off absolutely great
Excited with the crew
Raps warming up (looking nervous?)
Crowd starting to fill the seats
Crazy red sea...
...that I was proudly part of
Despite having the guy who constantly stood up and covered my view with his sign, I had fun.
But then the Raps lost 96-91. I was seriously bummed out. So to cheer me up, Arvin and I went to St. Lawrence Market, where I drowned my sorrow with:

I'm still getting over it with Arnold Palmer's help.
That's okay, Game 2 is on Tuesday. If they lose again, I may gain a lot of weight. They better win.

3.5 Hours To Go

Before I attend my first Raptors Playoff Game. I'm expecting to see this:
But hoping something like this happens:
You're going down Wince!
(Although I will admit that I had a nightmare last night that the Raps lost the first game. I'm kinda worried Carter is going to go off for 50 today)

Friday, April 20, 2007

Weather Is Getting Nice Again

Nice and sunny. I think after quite the lull in "training" I'll go for a run today. I'm so dead.

Thursday, April 19, 2007

Pictures Are Fun!

Especially during a Raptors game with workmates...
Yeah baby!
Ladies and Gentlemen...Jerome Iginla!
Ketch de wabe
Yee-uh...who got the white girl!

The real reason we were there?

Why Am I Leaving Again?

Just went to the Mama Martino's and the Raps game (which they lost...way to inspire confidence going into the playoffs, guys) with the work crew. Great times. I get along great with them; and yet I chose to leave them for the other team.

Oh right...change. It's not like I'm gonna stop being friends with them. It'll just be different. Like I told them, "I don't like getting out of my comfort zone, but at the same time I need to do/try something different."

And then Mike Tran, he of the team I'm joining in September, said that the position I am getting is one that they "won't let me leave." Hmmm...

Money? Who Needs It!

Especially when you book three trips in the span of a week!
1. Alberta
2. Cuba
3. Greece
4. Nowhere for a while
* * *
Officially got the Raptors playoff tickets in the mail...yee-uh! I'm not a bandwagon fan, I'm the real deal. Unlike Arvin.

I don't think I want to take another Monday off anymore; dang it was crazy busy today

"Thank You For Waiting"...

...an hour! Wow, that's the longest time I've ever been put on hold. Luckily I had a day off today.
But the wait was worth it; Sharon and I are now booked to go to Alberta this Canada Day Long Weekend, all on Petro Points!
Now I'm organizing a Cuba trip this August. I think I'm going through some travel overload here. It's as if I don't have a mortgage and wedding to save up for. Not that I'm worried about that or anything

After Five Long Years

My faith in my favourite team has not wavered. My Raps have not only got into the playoffs, they have now clinched home team advantage. Yee-uh! Watched the game at Reccie and Elmer's place because they have RapsTV. I really want it when we get our house.
I also played their Nintendo Wii, which I also want. Life is expensive. Yay!
* * *
Went to Team Miknifer's house to vacuum their carpets. Sounds odd, but it was worthwhile. Dyson here we come!

Saturday, April 14, 2007

Happy Peet

Funny movie. Sharon has my fartsong.
* * *
Went to the National Home Show today. So much things to get for the house, it almost seems overwhelming. So what's the best way to deal with it?
Travel!
I'll possibly be going on three major trips this year: Carribean, Alberta and Greece. Excited and apprehensive all at once...

Fat-E-Geh

Feelin' so fatigued lately. That can't be good.

So it's official! I will be changing positions on September 4 of this year. Time to live it up in my current role like it's 1999...

Work Overload

It was one of those days today. But at least I got enjoy after work (even though I left at 6pm) with Mikey, Rowie and Alan (Filipino Connection [finger salute]) at Originals. Starting tomorrow I'm going on a diet. Less than 30 days till the race! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

There is no reason this picture is up. No reason at all
Big ups and special thanks to my wonderful future wife who did all the planning. I am a horrible person, but will be reaping the rewards. I'm one lucky summamabich

It Was Just A Pantasy

Damn...out of 16 teams in my Fantasy Basketball league, I made the Final Four. My team was strong and avoided any major injury setbacks -- until this past week. Not one, but three of my studs (Jefferson, Chandler and TMac) went down at the same time. One, maybe even two guys out I could recoup, but not three.
And the worst part? I lost by one point to the opposing team despite having all those injuries. I blame it on TJ Frikin' Ford for having a stinker of a game we went to last Sunday.
So before you think I'm a big fantasy league geek, if I made it to the Championship game (again, I missed it by ONE (!) point), and had I won (which was very plausable considering all those injured guys are back playing again this week...[I'm whimpering here]), I would've bagged over $100.
Sob.

Newest Addiction:

Vented back supports! In my ever growing obsession of proper lumbar support, I had purchased three (3!) of these babies:

Hawt...it's like an Obus Forme in lingerie
Might not look good up there, but trust me, it's a great investment at $9.99 each. Screw the overhyped Obus Formes, this is the real deal. Now I can slouch (even more than usual)!

Basketball Frenzy

I've been diluged with basketball recently: went to the game last night, played ball this morning, just came back from Cooper's watching the game there. And I love it! I'm gonna miss this time of year the next few month, so I'm trying to soak it up as much as possible. And the gravy? Raps are in the playoffs and I'm going to the first game baby!

Kobe!

Had a fun time in Niagara for Gil's bachelor party. One thing I do realize (at least confirm) is that my brothers and I are very different people. Not that that's a bad thing. Just different.

I also had a Kobe Beef Burger at Wolfgang Puck's restaurant, and I swear, it's one of the best burgers I ever had. I'm salivating just thinking about it right now.

Oh yeah, and yet again, I vow not to gamble anymore. Let's see how long that lasts.

Saturday, April 07, 2007

Bacheloring

Just came back from rock climbing at Rock Oasis for the first part of Gil's bachelor party. Yeah, it's definitely not my sport. I sorta realized it when I was about to hyperventilate on top of the wall.
Now we're going to Niagara for a night of debauchery. Should be interesting

Another Amusing Parental Anecdote

(At least to me).
Dad to Mom (inexplictably watching "Party of Five" on TV): "Is this Party of Eight?"
Mom: "Hindi...Pibe"
Dad: "Pibe? It's not eight?"
Mom: "Pibe! Party of Pibe"
Dad: "Are you sure? I thought it was Party of Eight"
I wonder what my Dad thinks "24" is called.

Good Friday

A day off work and a time to reflect at how much better a person I could be.

Thursday, April 05, 2007

Got It...Sorta

Well it seems I got the position I was coveting, with the exception I wouldn't be starting it for another few months. But hey, at least I know what I'll be doing for the next little while. Am I happy though? Yep...a little unnerved and uneasy though for some reason. It'll hit me soon enough.
* * *
Went to Originals for wings today with Sharon, Rowie and Mikey. But then it was too busy (damn Leafs), so we ended up at Groucho's Burgers (yum) and Hollywood Gelato (yum yum!). Salvaged trip!

And then I ate the bowl!

Happy Barfday Kiri!

Okay, so I made a Birthday cake for Kiran, as it is on April 8 but she won't be here. Usually my creations turn out at least 39% decent. In this case? Well, it looks like dogs barf.
It's the thought that counts, right?

I just hope she doesn't think my thoughts of her are, well...barf

No News Is No News

I'm not sure if that's good news or if that's bad news, but one thing for sure it sure is frustrating (especially with someone as impatient as myself).
* * *
Cha-ching!!! Income tax return time!
* * *
Looks like my darling has taken over looking for the honeymoon, all because I complained. Now I feel bad. Now I'm going to have to complain about feeling bad for complaining about planning the honeymoon that she is now planning. It's like a never-ending cycle (and pretty much sums up why I complain so much in my life?)

Looks Like I'm Dreamin' Again

I'll know if I got my new position by tomorrow. This means I don't have to drive as much if I get it. It would also mean I'm thinking of trading in my car for a Pick-Up.

Geez...don't even leave anything to the imagination
Let's not get so ahead of ourselves now...hello? You got a mortgage?!?

Why Do They Call It That?

Well whatever they call it, it sure as hell hurts:

It's what I have on my leg due to some guy's knee running into my thigh. And it's pretty painful. Argh.

Blue Jays season is once again upon us and it coincides with an annual occurance: my Father becoming a couch potato for at least 3 hours a day for the next few months

Purple Fever Is Back!

Just came from the Raps game and it's official: the Raps are back in the playoffs! Yee-uh! Before they unceremonially dumped purple from their official colour schemes, the Raptors in the playoffs meant "Purple Fever" time. I gots it now babee!

And then I ate the bowl!
Some greatness from the game today included:

-getting the "Guys Night Out Package" which involved us leaving halfway through the second quarter to figure out where to get the vouchers for the food and toque you get in addition to your ticket (in years past they delivered it to your seat). And when we found the girl that was in charge of it, we were kinda glad we found her...a heh a heh a huuuuuu
-zinging Arvin everytime I caught him staring at a (Kellie Au Au) girl. Then again, he caught me too, looking at Kellie Au Rory
-getting free pizza for tomorrow!

I love the Raptors. If I ever got rich, I'd get season tickets for sure. RaptorsTV at least

Raps Baby

Going to the game tonight, then one next week followed by one on the 18th. I gots purple fever!

Wow...I guess nothing's been going on with my life lately. I don't really have anything to talk about. I should prolly embrace this time in my life

OhOh Here We Go Again

This time it's more "official"...the transfer opportunity for a different job within my workplace has come up today. Do I stay or do I go?
Take the road travelled more than less than 46% of the time
Well to take away the drama of this post, the e-mail regarding the transfer was sent to the entire workplace at 2:14pm. After taking some time to think about it, I responded with an "I'm interested" at 2:16pm.
Now it's the waiting game yet again. Dammit, just when I was getting comfortable again in my old spot. Holy restless

Alice Fazoodled

My cousin Corinna from Seattle (originally from Vaughn) was in this week, and we went to Alice Fazooli's for dinner. Holy expensive! But that's okay, she's not in town much more and it was a good special occasion.
She's an interesting person (of the holistic medicine type) and is currently trying to have a baby. Prolly won't help that the baby she gives birth to will be the same weight as her (she's a stick-thin 33 year old woman). Okay, bad joke

And what did I learn in my Filipino class? Some, but not as much as I want to. Oh well, I'm not surprised though what with having a pretty bad teacher.

A New Tradition?

Bowling and Steak on my birthday. Today marked the innagural year that I did this (yes, steak again).
And what did I get from my baby for my birthday? Clamps! Awesome gift...I'm gonna go clamp stuff now

Look at that Pinching Power
The guy at Sears even commented, "it takes a special kind of woman to buy a man clamps for his birthday"

Damn I'm Old

Well, not that old, but now I'm officially past my mid-twenties (half past mid-twenties?). Woke up this morning and watched Shooter with Con.
"You are making me...furrow my eyebrow"

Not a bad movie; your general action-packed-suspend-your-belief kind of movies.
Then Sharon and I went to see some dressmaker in Scarborough, followed by a dinner with Lawrence and Lavita at East Side Mario's, where I swear I had one of the best steaks I've ever had (yes, I realize the oddity of going to East Side Mario's for steak, of all things). As a result, yup...I'm busting out the pic:

garble garble mrahhhhhhhh
I think I'm going to make it a yearly tradition that on my birthday I will eat a steak dinner. Yes, I think that's a great idea.
And then we went to a fam jam where Corinna's home for a week. Then to my place and just relaxed with Sharon.
Just realized something: this time last year, it was my last moments of being single. Wow...I can't seem to imagine that anymore, nor do I think I want to.

Keep On Going

Keep On Moving...
That's what I'm constantly telling myself as I am dying while running outside today for the first time this year. Good run, although my thighs started chafing again. Argh

When I Sell Out, I Sell Out Big

First of all, I can't believe I sold out and joined Facebook. But hell, since I joined it, I've become quite the sellout. I try my hardest not to log on so often, but I inevitably do. It's like a form of voyeurism...damn, I'm a pervert.
* * *
I'm trying to learn about furnaces and whatnot, but it's more complicated than I thought! I think I'm getting too excited about owning a house with Sharon; I even am planning to buy hardwood floors without even knowing how much I need. I better take a step back and wait just a bit. And I also have to realize that we don't have the money for all the things we want. Prioritize!

Got the new Robin Thicke album. Damn Jason Seaver made some talented kids

WALL-EEEEESE! WALL-EEEEESE!

So I tried a new sport that I think I really like and want to take up: Curling! Kiri, Kathie, Mikey, Sarah and I tried our hand at it for the first time today for a work event. Who would've thought it would be so fun! Well I sort of did, but it was good times. Mikey, Sarah and I even did our Filipino joke of instead of yelling "HURRY HARD!" we yelled "WALESE!" (which means sweep in Filipino). We figured if anyone knew how to sweep, it would be us domesticated Filipinos.
Kathie and I are even thinking of joining a league. We'll see.

At this point she realized: she should've worn underwear

Taglog Is A Hard Language

Seriously, very hard to learn. Who would've thought?

119!

No, it's not another movie like 300; rather, according to www.cbc.ca/testthenation that is my IQ.
Basically, I had to tally how many correct answers I got out of 60 questions. I had 46 questions correct. Sharon told me she had 55 questions correct!!! Only to find out...she added her score wrong and actually had 45 questions correct for an IQ score of 117 (as opposed to the 136 she at first thought she had...needless to say that whole incident made me laugh for a little while. Superior IQ indeed).
Both of us are considered "Above Average IQ" which is great and all, but you know, and I don't mean to gloat or anything (but I will, naturally), I do have a higher IQ than her. Now, I ain't saying she's a gold digger, but I don't see her messin' with no...average IQ man. Just saying.

Rings...

...check! And while in Downtown, Sharon and I almost got killed. Well, thoughts of being the next Jane Creba anyway. After eating some of the most delicious hot dogs I've ever eaten (at Frankz, beside Salad King), we were at the stop light on Gould St. turning left on Yonge St when Sharon pointed out a fight happening.
I looked to my left and these three gangbangers were trying to fight this one homie. The one guy did pretty well for himself, even dragging one of the guys through the ice/snow before letting him go and reaching for something on his belt while getting closer to my car. At that moment, all I thought was...great. Luckily, he was reaching for his cell phone and he ran towards Yonge St., where a lot of Police were (due to the St. Patrick's Day parade) and the light turned green. Interestingly, no PoPo stopped him. Man I hate violence like that. Makes my stomach churn.
And people wonder why I like the suburbs that much. Not to say it's way safer, but, well, I think it is.
Oh and as for the rings, it fits quite nicely :)

Only 298 More Times

Till I watch 300 300 times. It's just as good the second time around!
AH-WOO! AH-WOO!

I'm Getting That Feeling

That feeling that with approximately 55 days left until my 10km race, that I won't be doing too well. Why that feeling? Well considering my training has been lackadasical at best and I'm hurting whenever I try to start it, it's not a good sign.
Enough of this complaining though, I gotta actually try every once in a while. No more junk food! (yeah, right)

No Meat Friday's

During Lent, I still observe that practice of not eating red meat or chicken on Friday's (seafood is allowed for some peculiar reason). Apparently that's been abolished and you're allowed to eat meat, just not on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. But I've been doing it (the best I could) my whole life and I didn't exactly "give up" anything for Lent. So I continue to do it.
Surveying my workmates who are Catholic, it's a mixed answer. Some said "what's the point if you still have a fish feast, when really it's supposed to be about fasting?" Others said, "well, I didn't hear anything, so I continue not to eat meat on Friday's" One even said, "if you're over 60 it's allowed."
In the end, one day without meat shouldn't be hard to do irregardless of religious reasons. But then the more I shouldn't do it, the more I want it. I'm only human.

Ahhhh...

...after about 4-5 months, I've finally cleaned the inside of my car. It's always so refreshing. At the same time, it's also so painful to watch it slowly but surely get dirty again

Happy Marriage D-Teng

Went to Diana and Brian's Chinese wedding at Don Huang Restaurant. Good stuff, good company, good luck (to the couple!). My baby looked hot...

Okay...Ummm....Yeah...

...woah. :D
* * *
Went to see 300 with KenKen. Needless to say, I want to be a Spartan now.

Yarghhhh...I'm eh pirate
Unfortunately I don't think I have:
1. The body for it
2. The intestinal fortitude to be one (unless you count my fortitudeness stomach as intestinal fortitiude)
3. The facial hair
4. The athletecism to be one
5. The willingness to walk around in public to what amounts to nothing more than sandals, a thong and a cape
But whatever the case, a great movie!

Fagbook

Yes, I've said it many times over, "I'm not going to ever join Fagbook. Maybe if there was a Boobbook."
And now? I just went all gay. Dammit! I fell for the hype. So sad...because spending 3+ hours a day on the Internet is not enough time, so I opted to go to a website that would increase that time.
Looks like I'll have to get ready for all the barbs from all the people I told I won't join.

Why Mother...Why?!?

As I've said multiple times, my parents can be funny people. Sometimes though, the funniest turns to outright horror (at least on my part). Witness this dinnertime conversation today:
Me: You gave up eating meat on Wednesday's now?
Gil: Just for Lent
Mom: Your Father gave up sex for Lent
No one needs to hear that; especially your children (no matter how old they are). Needless to say, I was not hungry after that.

In This Excrutiating Course

I'm taking a Microsoft Outlook course at work right now. For a whole day. One hour alone was spent on how to send an e-mail.
I'm dying here. Why do I do this to myself?
* * *
I just had a very bitter orange/grapefruit (orangefruit?). I hate the bitter taste. If there was no bitter taste buds on my tongue, I think I would approximately 2908972 times happier. Maybe (duh) this explains why I don't particularily like alcoholic drinks. I'm very sensitive.
How much do I not like bitterness? I just took a straight shot of sugar (from a sugar package used for coffee).

Sometimes You Want Something Really Badly

You think about it for a long time, you want it to come true, but then it doesn't happen.
Oh well.

Pork N' Beans N' Vienna Sausages

Not the best mix for dinner, but I had it anyway. Needless to say, I won't be having that type of dinner again. Ever.
And the pork in the "Pork n' Beans"? Yeah...right...

"California...California..."

So I watched this awesome movie just now:

No love without the PowerGlove
For you '80s babies, you might remember this movie from your youth. I certainly did cause I thought it was one of the best movies ever growing up.
Of course now, I realize it was nothing but a marketing ploy for Nintendo. But whatever...any movie that has the superior thespian skills of Kevin Arnold is good with me.
Among the highlights of the film:
-that kid that only said, "California...California..." I remember when I was in California and I saw those dinosaurs. I felt like I was part of the movie
-when the oh-so-cool Lukas brought out the PowerGlove in a metal container (!). Then he proceeded to use it. Afterwards, he says, "I love the PowerGlove." Which prompted Kevin Arnold to say the spectacular line, as he put his arm around the white trash girl: "Well as long as you don't put your PowerGlove on her." Awesome, simply awesome
-the white trash girl screaming in the Casino "HE TOUCHED MY BREASTS!!!" which got the attention of the security guards and hauled the bounty hunter (!) away
-a Black Trucker named Spankey
-a retarded kid that is exceptional at video games, finding "secret passages" in a game that has never been played before to that point (Super Mario Bros. 3). Obviously realism is not a big selling point in this movie. Then again, I may be retarded to actual be looking for realism in a movie like this
So after not watching it for like 15 years, it was a blast from the past.
I'm old.

Sooner Or Later

A house will pop up. Until then, it's purely just a waiting game. An annoying one, at that.
* * *
Gonna party it up tonight at West 50 for Tabico's birthday. Should be interesting.
* * *
Oh damn, I just realized I ate meat today inadvertantly (I honestly forgot). Does this mean I can eat meat for the rest of the day now?

Longest Drive Ever

Usually it takes me about 20-25 minutes to drive home. But with today's freak snowstorm, it took me 1.25 hours. And on top of that, there are always stupid people who don't know how to drive in the snow.
I did find it funny all the people with rear wheel drive cars having crazy problems trying to get up even the slightest hill. I especially laughed at the BMW driver who probably thought he was "da bomb" in his snazzy mobile, only to get outdriven by a cheap Toyota Echo. What!

The Vitz is on top for a reason...yee-uh
