I Want The Voices In My Head...

...to stop.
(Man, people must think I'm suffering from schitzophrenia)
Really, though.

So Close...So Close...

These renovations that seem to be taking forever is almost coming to a close. I can sense it.
Can't wait, only thing left to do is sand, paint, work on the curb appeal, start the bathroom renovations, the windows...
Ulp.

When Did I Change?

It's interesting sometimes how you take stock of your life, and then realize that you have changed without actually, well, realizing it.
The recent change I've noticed about myself I'm not sure if I like. Sometimes I think I don't have a conscience (or at least do a really good job of ignoring it), which complicates matters.
I try not to be selfish, but often end up nothing but. I hurt the ones that mean the most to me just to benefit myself. It's frustrating.
Moral delimna? Sometimes. Confused? All the time.
I hate being so bipolar and complainey. Too many voices in my head...argh

Montana's What

It's that time again when all the "young" PHIs have a par-tay git-together at fun central:

Montana's is Hip Hop
Something tells me I'm gonna get paged as soon as I get there.

Already?!?

So I just came back from a one-week vacation thinking I would be all refreshed and ready to go, and...it's like I hit a wall. No motivation, no physical energy, thinking too much, doing too little, not productive, way too emotional and complainey; yeah, all of the above.
I wonder what that is?
And to top it off, I'll be on-call for the next two weeks.
I'm thinking it may be because there is a lot of transition going to happen the next few weeks/months both at work and personally.
Arvin told me that I'm unable to get on with life and I tend to dwell because I have a sharp memory and don't forget much. While I would normally call that a compliment (who wants to be called forgetful?) , maybe he's onto something. I wish I could turn it off.
I also wish I wasn't such an emotional wreck.
I hope Sharon's ready...
Yikes...I'm babbling so much it's like I drank two litres of Babble Tea

Nice To Meet You

In my life, I'm grateful to meet certain people who tell me words of advice that I actually once in a while believe. These tidbits of life are sometimes far and few between, so when they come, it's like a light bulb goes over my head. I look forward to the next one.
ting!
* * *
Tomorrow is day two of the reality show, Jason:PHI. I was chosen by a workmate to make an instructional video; like a "day in the life of a PHI." It's gonna be quite horrible, and I can't wait for the end product

Throwing Money Out The Window

Well, technically at windows. We're getting a bunch of quotes for new windows, and damnnnnnnnnn...is espensive!

You make a door (to brokeness) than a window
But as with all our "improvements", it's better to look at it as an investment. Mos def

Here We Go...

...back to hecticness!
No let up until the honeymoon, I imagine...

Home!

After a fun week in Cuba, it's great to be home as always.
Mind you, the majority of us were wanting to go home by Friday, but that's besides the point.
From the trip, negatories:
-food
-bed
-getting sick
Positories:
-meeting new, fun people
-dancing in clubs
-swimming in the ocean
-SCOOTERS!
All in all, I had a good time and am glad the boys came out. Pictures soon (maybe, depending on the screening of them)

Hangin' With Fidel

Getting all packed up and ready to go for a whole week of nothing! Well, there will also be a week of contemplative thinking, I would definitely imagine. I'll be here, so for a good 7 days I won't be blugging:

Going with the boys for my "bachelor party." Although I'm still wondering what kind of a bachelor party it would be when all the rest of the guys are trashed and I'm the sober one. I got a vacation haircut too (Mohawk what).
The hotel I heard is tres ghetto, so really, it'll be an adventure.
Yeahhhhhhhhhhhhh boi!
(Love you baby, see you when I get back)

Realized Something About Myself Today

Nothing earth-shattering (come to think of it, when have I ever had a realization that shatter a country, let alone a planet?). I realized that I'm much a victim of novelty, especially when it comes to Doritos.
Everytime there is a new flavour of Doritos out, I always have to purchase it at that instant to try it out. Don't get me started when they had Ketchup as a flavour...
Anywho, case in point: today. I did an inspection at a convenience store today, and saw two flavours I haven't tried before: chili cheese lime and spicy habanero. So what did I do? I bought both.
Spicy Habanero: good, what I was expecting. Chili Cheese Lime: the flavours sort of clashed. I think the Tostitos Hint of Lime totally ruined it for me because nothing beats the Tostitos Hint of Lime, and when I saw that flavour, I thought it would be somewhat similar. It wasn't (I ended up giving half the bag to Kathie, which is prolly a good thing because too much junk food just ain't good).
I hope they don't come out with a Spicy Ketchup flavour...I think I'd gain 19 pounds in 3 days.

Some Actual Words Of Advice From Guys I Know

A (divorced): "Jason, I'll teach you what I learned about marriage and how to make it successful"
Me: "Okay?"
A: "Marriage is all about communication, communication, communication. It is not a one-way street. Marriage is a two-way street. Make sure you always have communication"
T (married 3 years, and not missing a beat): "That may be true, but I'm just saying...women don't know how to drive"
* * *
Me: "Don't you feel guilty for having feelings about other women, going on a date with them, and having a fiance?"
(He who will remain nameless): "No! Listen, never feel guilty, otherwise you know you did something bad. If you don't feel guilty, you didn't do anything bad"

I Heart Football

Had a grand ol' time playing soccer with the workmates today for the annual tourney. It's so fun and challenging. Challenging to, you know, breathe properly.
I feel so out-of-shape. I also want to play in a soccer league, although I would be scared I would just embarass myself. Eventually, I suppose. You know what this means though? That's right...soccer shoes!
We went to Turtle Jacks afterwards where I had Buffalo Shrimp (absolutely awesome). I also got the razzin' from the workmates about getting married. Despite what they say, I can't wait...

Tuesday, August 07, 2007

Monsignor Said "Okay"

So we're allowed to get married. It's soon!

Got a head cold...hope it goes away before Cuba. Maybe I'm too excited

"BBQ at my place!": A New Era

So I had to work today, which sorta sucked (late vendors, hot sun, aching feet, sweaty, blah). Afterwards, I was supposed to work on the house, but I felt a little fatigued and didn't want to bother my Dad.

Seeing as how the gas line for the BBQ was just installed earlier in the day, it was a perfect opportunity to test it out. And what better way then to invite a few peeps over to inaugurate the grill?

We had a small party around the natural gas grill
The inevitable happened of course, both bad (dropped a pan full of bacon and stained the deck with oil) and good (had the friends over whom I haven't seen in a while and did the "remember whens"). So aside from the getting old feeling, it was good times.
Back to reality for the next few days including: meeting with the Priest tomorrow; work, even this coming up Saturday for more overtime; and, trying to finish off as much as I could around the house before Cuba this Sunday. All while trying not to think about going on vacation. Good luck with that one...

Monday, August 06, 2007

We Have Cool!

So things at the house are motoring along (finally). We got our A/C installed today, along with the furnace. The guys are coming back tomorrow for the natural gas line for the BBQ (which I made today).
On top of that, our flooring guy started and completed the Master Bedroom and closet.
Good times...I mean, there's still a ton of things left to do, but it's always refreshing to see a lot of progress in a little time.
Not so good times? Working on a long weekend Monday. I'll be working a special event where I don't anticipate it going well. But considering all the money we've been spending, I gotta find it somewhere. I'll also be working this coming up Saturday for another crappy event; but that's okay, because only one more week till Cuba!

Maybe This Will Work?

To help myself get out of a funk, I tend to do things that are different from my norm. So what did I do differently today?
I finally changed the layout of my blog.
Okay, so it's not a drastic change, but it's still a change nonetheless.
* * *
I forgot to mention that last week a Public Health Inspector in Toronto was charged by the Police for accepting bribe money from a bar.
I will go on record as saying that I have never and never will accept bribes, nor has it ever crossed my mind. I would like to think of myself as being too honest for that kind of thing.
Going back to the story, though, of what relevance does that have to me (despite it being the first time I've ever heard about a story like this here)? Well, I got into the office and a lot of people started asking me about the situation. I didn't know what they were talking about until they told me the story. Apparently, the PHI that was charged was my mentor.
Do I think he did it? Hard to say. When I was working with him, he was very careful about the things he did and the things he said to me. Obviously, he taught me the correct things to do on the job, and none of the bad things. I also got along with him great, in fact. So it's hard to believe that someone I personally know would do such a thing.
At the same time, though, I know PHIs, like him that play the system (heck, I'm like that sometimes, although I would never do something as serious as that). So in a (sad) way, it sorta didn't surprise me. If anything, I was only surprised that he got caught, especially since other people that knew him told me that he was a very paranoid character that always was worried about getting into trouble. In fact, someone who spoke to him directly told me he said he didn't do it and he believed him.
In the end, I shouldn't speculate. I'll just be patient and wait to see what becomes of it.
Oh yeah, and this situation is also a bit weird for me because I'm a mentor myself (proudly for three years straight). I told everyone that I taught all my students never to do something like that. I taught them the proper way: only accept American Money because it's not worth as much. Oh snap! (That was a joke, by the way, people who may be in authority and may use that last statement against me in a court of law)
* * *
One month before I switch teams at work. Excited, but at the same time getting a little emotional leaving. I really like the people I work with right now, and I'm sorta dreading the new people I'm going to be working with. Luckily, they're only a floor above me away.

Here's Another Surprise:

I'm feeling "bleh."
What the heck is wrong with me, I gotta get out of this funk.
Errrrrr...

Cuban Countdown Time!

Partook in my first foodhandler training course today. I'm actually looking forward to it! Especially since I went out this morning with Boss, who I still think is stuck in a timewarp and is just, well...embarassing

Blah.

I Wish I Could Work Faster

But then I think that if I do, the quality of work would be worse than it is already. I'm just hoping Sharon is as patient with the renovations as she is with, say, me. That's really patient.
I am also really, really grateful for the fact my Dad is an electrician and all around genius (at least in my books). We're saving so much having him do all the electrical work in our house.
Speaking of the house, I may as well be living there right now. I'm spending so much time in there (not that I mind).
Can't wait for the stuff to be done!

Everytime I Think I Can Be A Contractor...

...I just have to remember how my body (particularly my hands) feel right now.
I love my Government job.

Saturday, July 28, 2007

So Anything Happen?

Nope. Turns out my life is not that important/busy anyway.
I didn't go on the computer (aside from at work) for the first time in a long time last night. I thought that if I didn't, the emails would pile up and I'd be "missing out". More than 24 hours later...nope. You know, that could be construed as a good thing. At least I'd like to think so.
We'll see after I come back from Cuba and I don't go onto my account for a week.

Friday, July 27, 2007

Where Has The Summer Gone?

It's going by way too fast. That plus the fact this summer has been completely different from all the summers I've ever had makes for quite the eyeopener.
I'm sorta feeling burnt out...can't wait for Cuba!

My Favourite Baby

Trinity!
(It might have something to do with the fact that she doesn't cry in my arms, but that's besides the point. I hope our kids turn out this beautiful/good natured. Well, one out of two won't be bad)

Two Jobs

That's what I feel like I have.
I'm really looking forward to Cuba now!

Tuesday, July 24, 2007

Loser!

So what did I do today that was a first (and hopefully the last)?
I locked myself out of the house.
Luckily I had my phone with me (thank goodness I had my phone with me) so I could call Sharon to unlock me out of the house.
I think it may be in part to the fact I'm running myself ragged here.
My body is getting sore like a mofo too. As a result, I'm going for a massage. Damn I'm excited.
* * *
I miss the gym, basketball and even jogging. Can't wait till free time surfaces again

Times Four

I always forget that that is the actualy amount of time it takes for me to do projects. In other words, I would have to realistically think about a timeframe a renovation project would take, times it by four, and that would bring me to the end. Until I get it down to "times two point three" do I deserve a pick-up truck.
In other rather saddish but good news, I will not be able to make it to Montreal next week for my dose of smoked meat. Why is it good news though? Because we're getting our furnace, air conditioner and natural gas line for the barbeque installed. Steak time!

Saturday, July 21, 2007

So Close...

...it's getting there!
But first: sleep. Yay!

What Else Can I Talk About?

These days it seems all I can talk/think about is the renovation. I do, luckily, see a turning point.
So what else can I talk about? Well, one of our windows is leaking. Looks like window replacement is going to be bumped up to the top of the list, followed by furnace installation. Home ownership is fun! We should flip this house now. Right.
Oh, and starting tonight, I'm on-call for a week. With my luck, I'll get to bed and then two hours later I'll get a call. (I hope I just reverse-jinxed it)

Thursday, July 19, 2007

I Feel Like A Machine

Not as in, "I feel like eating a machine" but rather "I feel like I'm a machine."
Fortunately, I see a light at the end of the renovation tunnel.
Unfortunately, it's 7 km. away and I have no legs.
I have faith it will be done soon. I have no choice.

Confused Face

If you see me, more than likely that's the face I'm currently sporting.

Don't Get Me Wrong...

...doing these home renovations, I'm tired, my body is aching, I'm getting broke and I'm wondering when I'm finally gonna be done them.
And I'm loving every minute of it.

And Tomorrow...Work (Sigh)

Thus ended one of the busiet weekends I've had in a while. Kiran, Sharon and I went to Ruthie and Trinity's birthday party at her house (also known as "damn far"). It was great: the food, the company, and of course the fact I'm convinced Trinity knows me and likes me (when she saw me, she wanted to go in my arms). Yes, some of the happiness in my life depends on whether or not babies like me.
I also got a couple hours of work in at the house. I know what I have to do; just gotta find the time to do it. Starting this Thursday, I'm on-call again. Ay nako!

White People Dancing

One of the most consistent things in life that make me laugh. I just don't get it, but at the same time am greatful I don't.
So the wedding was fun, although one thing stood out in my mind: their centrepieces were vases filled with decorative stone, water, flowers, and what looked to be gel. It wasn't gel though; it was a clear plastic bag stuffed inside to make it look like gel. It irked me for some reason. If there's one thing in life that annoys me it is wet plastic bags. I don't know why, and some might consider it even random and neurotic, but man it's annoying.
Oh and they had pizza at the late night snacks table. Yumm...(which reminds me, I should watch what I eat because I haven't exactly been exercising lately. I'm so disappointed in myself)

Saturday, July 14, 2007

And Now Off To Wine Country

To a wedding. Hopefully there will be good eats there.
* * *
Last night was fun, pretending I knew how to dance. It was interesting seeing Arvin and his "Salsa Circle."
* * *
New favourite line:
"Me Miss You. Date: Always"

Friday, July 13, 2007

Hap Birfday Argay

We going to salsa at Babaluu's. At least, he is. Sharon and I will just watch.
Start of a busy weekend...

"Oh It's On"

That's what I tell myself everyday for the past couple of weeks as I do the renovations in the house. I have to hype myself up somehow.
Hope tomorrow isn't as busy a day as today was at work. I'd love to spend the weekend at the house trying to finish things up, but it's gonna be a busy one (Friday is Arvin's birthday at Babaluus, Saturday is a wedding at St. Catherines, Sunday is Ruthies bbq in Shelburne). And then next week I'm on-call.
B-A-NA-NA-S!

Going Up In The World

Well at least in our house. Guess what my baby bought me?
Gotta get a snake to finish the combo
I didn't realize I'd get so giddy over a ladder (I haven't been this giddy since, well...a couple days ago when I bought a reciprocating saw/jigsaw combo). It's great! It's telescopic and it's portable when fully collapsed. Our home inspector used one, and I thought, "now that's a ladder I would want if it wasn't so expensive."
Somewhere along the line, unfortunately, the second part of that statement got lost or mistranslated as "...and money is no object!"
Wow I'm complaining a lot about money these days. I better stop; it's not like we're poor and starving or like some ghetto people I know (no names, but years from now if you read this post, I'm pretty sure you know who I'm talking about).

It's Like A Leaking Faucet

That is, the supposed money I have in my wallet. Alright bills!

Mouth Agape

So I found out some news today that left me going, "whoa". It involves two workmates and a baby to come between them. Yowza (glad it's them and not me right now)!

Sharon's Showered

You know who I think is a good friend? Nina Serrano.
She planned, executed, and helped immensely for Sharon's bridal shower (and even gave a generous gift to boot!). Everyone seemed to have a good time. Seriously, what other friend would do something like that?
So, here's to you Neeners. Here's to you.
* * *
We ended up with a bunch of great gifts, and our registry is just about completed. Crazy!
* * *
Tomorrow I'm gonna start doing work around the house. At least, that's the plan.

KeeKooKooKooKooKeeKoo

That would be the sound of a Transformer transforming.
So I fell for the hype and watched what turned out to be an awesome movie (I came in with no expectations).

Looks like someone needs a shave
It was a funny and action packed movie. Sure there were quite the number of gay parts, but whatever.

No Looking Back

So this house ownership is fun, don't get me wrong. It's great to know that we actually own a place and the (extraordinary) amount of money we're spending is technically going back to us.
So being the excited homeowner, I promptyl started tearing down walls, floors and generally wrecking stuff in the house only to try and rebuild something nicer. So what the problem is?
I'm just really, really hoping it turns out nice. We'll see. We'll see indeed.
Oh yeah, and I'm getting crazy tired. But I'm gonna sleep well tonight and tomorrow I hope to be refreshed and renewed with new energy.
Eyekendueht!

Thursday, July 05, 2007

Tired?

Man, I haven't felt this fatigued in a long time.

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

"I'm So Excited...I'm So...Scared..."

Well, not scared, but for some reason I've been feeling like Jesse Spano these days with no time. Whether at work, or time to work out, or time to do the things we want in the house, or time to do things like getting my passport or calling the utility companies, I just don't have enough of it.
Man I better stop, I'm becoming a complainoholic.

Tuesday, July 03, 2007

Know What I Enjoy?

Working on our house.
It's such a surreal feeling and a labour of love.
Speaking of labour, I'm thinking I'm gonna have to do a lot more of that in the near future considering all the monies being spent. It's somewhat necessary though, so no sense getting all fussy about it.

Ontarian Again

And after a whirlwind weekend in Alberta, I'm home again. It was a mighty fun weekend, filled with eating (eep), hiking and awesome scenery. I'm thinking in two years we'll be going back if the Doctors' plans go ahead with schedule.
Tomorrow? Work. Sigh. But at least I am somewhat refreshed.

Saturday, June 30, 2007

I'm Albertan, Who Are You?

So I'm here in the "Wild Rose Country" Province of Alberta, having a grand ol' time. We are doing the double date weekend thing with Dr. Sy and Dr. Kim, a couple who is blowing us to shame with their lovey-dovey-ness. Not that it's a competition or anything.

But anywho, so far we even went as far as British Columbia (Yoho National Park), Lake Louise, in Jasper right now and in Banff tomorrow. Driving here is (excuse the pun) a trip...all the mountains, lakes and fresh air is awesome. I can see why Sharon would want to live here; as for me, I'd love to visit it more, but live here? I'm still an Ontarian by heart. And if I do live here, I'd prolly get a heart-attack (two delicious steaks and counting...)

Kinda dumb on my part to state this trip was a "release from reality" and away from work, e-mail and internet. Obviously, I'm on a computer now and I already checked my work e-mail. Seriously, I gotta learn to let go of it.

Damn work.

But then again, when we get home, it's gonna yet be a hectic next couple of months/years/life, what with the wedding and house and all that. Not that I'm complaining or anything.

Thursday, June 28, 2007

Now What? Oh Right, The Whole Wedding Thing

So the day hath come and passed, we are now proud house owners:
Opening the door...to debt
Seconds later, "ka-thud!" went her head into the door. Well, not really
The way I answer the door everytime MTV Cribs comes knockin'
Quite exciting (and scary) times indeed. And just in case the above doesn't work out and Sharon somehow leaves the house to me, I guess I can make it a frat house:

Way to dispel those rumours there
Don't leave me Sharon, I love you.
* * *
Going to Alberta (Ablerta to those who find it funnier to say it that way. Like me.) for the long weekend. Can't wait.
And as I've incessantly told this to everyone: "we're so excited about our house, we went to another province the very next day!" Not so funny to me after saying it about 24 times on separate occasions.

Melting, 2007 Version Part 1

As per usual at this time of the year, I get all sorts of complainey due to the extreme heat and humidity. Today was especially harsh, cause I took my Dad's van to work and despite it being a relatively new vehicle, the air conditioner compressor is on the fritz. So vented air and windows down it turned out to be for me.

Yeah. I was dying. But whatever, I got our leather chairs for the kitchen table.

Now for the actual table top...
Oh yeah, tomorrow is going to be a big day in our lives. It's my last day with disposable income! Yay?

Tuesday, June 26, 2007

Lawyered

And now we wait for Thursday.
* * *
Went to the Firehall in Bronte with the workmates; fun times as usual. I have a feeling I'm not going to hear the end of it though at work. Argh.

Working Long Hours Is Good, Right?

Dear goodness I hope so because that's what I've been telling myself. The crappy part about it is that I'm not claiming overtime.
Also, it was hot again today. Damn hot. I hate this kind of weather. Global warming be damned.
Tomorrow we meet the lawyer. This truly has to be my last week...with disposable money. Oh who am I kidding? I'll be throwing away a lot of money in the future...

Yum Yum Sinigang

My Dad makes this great Filipino dish:
Filipinos always eat on their hardwood floors
He makes it really good; super sour and tender meat. This is one of the things I'll really miss when I move out. I can of course learn to cook it for myself, but I prefer the whole "food is ready and I don't have to prepare it" aspect of living here.
Speaking of which, my Dad asked me, "are you going to cook or eat out everyday when you move out?" And then I caught myself being all old and adult-like. I responded, "we'll cook of course...do you think I am made of money?" But I think his point being was that Sharon should learn how to cook. I agree. Definitely.
* * *
4 more days till mortgage time! I bought some chairs for the kitchen table today. So now we can proudly tell our guest that they are now able to sit at the kitchen table. The fact that we have a glass kitchen table base, chairs, but no actual glass table top is besides the point.

Slo-Pitched Out

And another slo-pitch tournament done, but this time it doesn't end with: "I'm not going to do this next year again, I'm getting too old."
This year in Waterloo was actually fun! While I complained about being the Captain, my team had me proud of them when we all tried our hardest to lose. Don't get me wrong, it's not like we purposely went out to lose, but when we lost, we lost with style. This included cheering like madmen and madwomen getting the final outs and getting crazy looks from the other teams wondering why we're so happy we lost.
And in the end? We were perfect -- 3 games played, 3 games lost.
Doesn't hurt too that all my team told me that I did a great job (applause whore in the house) and that the other Peel team also told me that other teams were saying that our team seemed the funnest.
The day before was also fun dancing like fools with my workmates. I'm happy with the workmates I have, but at the same time am worried about the ones I'm inviting to my wedding. Well, not really that worried, but our families might think they're retarded.
And finally: I slept with someone else either than Sharon last night. It was Tony, and luckily no spooning occured. I'm a cheater

Thursday, June 21, 2007

Okay, Yes, I Get It, You're Old

So I went to this Symposium on Hygiene in Hamilton today, and the moderator totally reminded me of this guy:

"Whaaaaa?"
Professor Farnsworth from Futurama. He started the speakers late, and then blamed the following speakers after him for having all the rest of the speakers late. It was quite funny, really.
* * *
Picked up some furniture today; more furniture and other expensive stuff for the house to go. And really, I'm excited about it. Next phase of our lives are on the way!
* * *
Somewhat over the grumpiness from last night. I hate these extreme foul moods I get into every now and then. I better start growing up, and fast.

Wednesday, June 20, 2007

And It Don't Stop

Even if I want it to stop. Ah well.
Will be Hamilton tomorrow, Waterloo on Friday for the annual PHI slo-pitch tourney. When exactly was the last time Sharon and I spent time together? Can't wait till we get married

West Indian Food...

...in a Markham Chinese Mall. Makes perfect sense, obviously.
Even more surprising than me actually ordering it, is that it was really good. Go figure.

More furniture buying, and my awesome haggling skills saved us a whopping $22! Hey, better than nothing. I mean, sure, it prolly cost that much driving to Pickering, but that's besides the point.

Blah Day

Another one. I dunno what's wrong with me lately. Too many things on the mind. I think it's also possible I may be having one of those mid-life crisises kind of things.
Nothing a motorcycle can't fix.

I enjoy being a passenger

I hope Sharon doesn't hate me in the future. I would definitely be scared if I were marrying me. (Hey baby? Let's not talk about this post. I know you're reading this; as I've said before in one of my 900+ posts, I write this blog to remember what I was thinking on this day).

"Coasters Please"

Well, not really. But that's what could be said after Sharon and I continue our furniture buying ways. My baby found a good deal on a bunch of coffee and side tables for the house.
Our priority now is the TV. Okay, I lie, that's my priority. I suppose we'll need a kitchen and dining room table.

Fun Fun Fun

Working on Saturday's by myself is fun -- when you have a portable DVD player. It's not my fault working the crow lines is only as busy as people call in (which they really haven't). Not that I'm complaining or anything, because, I'm not.
I wish more overtime shifts were like this.

Uneven

Lately that's what my personality has been like. I get scared of it sometimes. Damn Filipino genetics.
* * *
Furniture shopping all day with my baby, with no results. Alls I knows is that it's gonna be expensive the next couple of...decades. Oh well, it's exciting nonetheless.
* * *
Overtime tomorrow. Easy there workaholic. Who am I kidding? I'm gonna watch DVDs.

Attention! Attention! Milestone Achieved!

The dream is alive and has come true... the newest Man Toy has been added:
Hot...literally!
The Beaumark BM64. Now all I need is a house and a natural gas hook-up. Unfortunately I won't have money for meat anymore, but that's besides the point.
I'm gonna barbeque everything now: steak, hot dogs, hamburgers, water, chickens, chocolate, fish, mayonaise, veggies...oh the possibilities are endless!

Keep The Mind Going

That's the mantra I had today, although not that I had much choice. Work seems to be busy, the house is coming up soon, got lotsa bills to pay, and I don't think I see my girlfriend enough. When I do see her, I treat her horribly. Too much things going through my mind; just want it to stop...at least for a couple of hours.
I don't sound complainey at all. Yeesh.
On the bright side, one of my favourite babies, Trinity, came to visit work with Ruthie again. Perhaps the most awesome baby ever.

A Clarifying Moment:

Someone I never knew about before until today, yet brought me close to tears after I read it from start to finish. Life's like that sometimes; made me realize partly how I live mine.
I need lots of improvements in mine, no doubt about it.

Adventures In Auto Repair

So everytime I try to fix my car, I always have this vision of myself:
I only repair cars with heels on
Unfortunately, whenever I finish, my car turns out something like this:
A little touch-up paint will fix that
So imagine my surprise when I was fixing my car door locks, I actually fixed it properly!
Of course I cut my hand, but that's besides the point.

Bait-Bull

So my slo-pitch team had it's first practice today (oh yeah, I got suckered into being Captain for my work's crappier slo-pitch team for the tournament next week). I am proud of each of my players and think they are doing great jobs trying their hardest.
Then again, it doesn't matter because we suck anyway and in no way were we ever really going to win.
But hey, playing in the field and turning a double play certainly brought me down memory lane (and memory pain).
Actual conversation today:
Sandra: "Jason you are doing a great job motivating everyone!"
Jason: "Thanks"
Sandra: "You keep saying nice things to everyone"
Jason: "That's because you deserve it...and plus I'll blog tonight how I really feel"
(assorted smattering of laughter)

"Knocked Up A Knock Out!"

That's the lame, cheesy headline I'd write if I were a movie critic. But that's only because it was such a darn funny movie.
The reaction after reading the title to this post
Funniest line in the movie for me, for some reason: "Marriage is a lot like Everybody Loves Raymond, except it's not funny"
And Seth Rogan still reminds me of Screech for some reason.

DeeBeeDee-ing

So for one reason or another, I worked today at the Brampton Flea Markets. So like every respectable and hardworking employee, I did what comes natural: I bought bootleg DVDs. Sure some of them are horrible quality, but nothing like Pirated movies for a great date with my baby. Nothing but the best for her!

Into The Cellar!

Going home today, it was like a tornado. Something like this:
Natural weather events porn?
Well, not quite, but it was pretty bad.
These extreme weather events are indicative of global pollution. Scary thought, really.

Lube Job

Not my car, but rather something I use just as much, if not more: my trusty computer.
If you squint closely, you can almost see a car frowning
Just got new Internet Security for my computer; hopefully it'll last for the next couple years in my new home.
Speaking of which, 3 more weeks before the start of my "mortgage years". Yikes!

I love my girl; I'm one of the luckiest summamabichs ever

Some "Think Abouts"

I had today:
-as I was driving my cousins to the airport, I thought to myself, "sigh"
-as I was working with stool (yes, my job is sometimes crappy), I thought to myself, "wow...can't wait to get out of this position"
-as I had a crazy work day that involved something like only a 15 minute lunch, I thought to myself, "this is nuts"
-as I wore my new hat and got all these compliments from the ladies at work, "yeahhhhh boyyyyy"
-as I was jogging after work during what seemed like the longest 7 km ever, "there is a difference between low energy and no energy. I think I got no energy"
-as I was eating my dinner, "why the heck does fish have so many bones? I think that may be one of the underlying reasons why I don't like fish so much"

Is It Over Already?

So one of my favourite cousin's and his family will be leaving tomorrow, and I gotta say that I'm kinda sad about it. Too bad they live in Long Beach. As always, the family that I actually do like and get along with has to live far away. That's okay though, as it gives us good reason to go down to California, say, next year. Hopefully this little guy will stay cute and well-behaved:

Mini-me-with-hair?
But one good thing that comes out of it will be my wallet not be feeling like a whore anymore (that is, it'll stop opening up so much). Again, not that I mind that much, but coupled with the wedding costs and the furniture buying, my card is taking quite the beating.
Ah well, such is life.

And Back

After a whirlwind weekend, I somehow ended back at work today (basically my family from Cali is at Niagara Falls right now). And blah did I feel.
It was nice going back to the gym and sweating, but I'm taking tomorrow off again for my Cousins' last day here, so it'll be quite the gluttonfest again.
Oh yeah, I also walked into an elevator door today (don't ask) and now I'm hurting. Nice.
I am happy though that I got the delivery date for some of our furniture on the day we wanted. The little things that make me happy...eeyeah

You Know What's Pretty Expensive?

Furniture is. But it's necessary, and Sharon and I have been blessed to have been able to bypass the Ikea Furniture stage of our lives. Not that Ikea is bad or anything, but I always thought that Ikea people were more University students and loft owners.

Now? We're The Brick people.
Hopefully the next level will be Idomo people, and after that is DeBoer's people (on regular price). Then finally custom-made (by me...ha! Now that's a joke) furniture people.

So Congrats To My Brother And New Sister

Everything went smoothly and I'm happy for them. How much fun did I have? Maybe this picture would help describe it:

I'm allowed a veil for my wedding too
One of the funniest parts of the night for me: my Dad's speech. I'm imagining a lot of the jokes may be recycled for my wedding, though.

Touristing

Takes a long time, but it's fun.
Started off at Master Steaks, where it's awesome that my cousin likes trucker joints as much as I do. And the steak I had was definetely one of the best I had.
Then to Winners, where I ended up getting a Joey Jeremiahish hat.
Then a drive through Toronto, including my first visit to (the parking lot) of Casa Loma.
Then to the CN Tower where we got in for free (score!) from my Mom's friend. Also ended up going to the SkyPod, which is higher than I've ever been in the CN Tower.
Great time, and I even squeezed in time to see Sharon where I think we found our other couches and bed set.
Yikes!
* * *
Wedding time tomorrow...gonna be hectic, but fun I hope.

First Furniture Furchase

Cha-ching! We are now "homeowners" with a couch. We did get it at a great price, though.
Of course it went from a "just looking" to "after 38 minutes of contemplation, this couch is for us".
Oh yeah, and we don't exactly have our house yet. Perfect!
* * *
Wedding rehearsal today, and my nephew Kemmy stole the show. Very cute kid, and relatively well-behaved (obviously my kind of kid).
Tomorrow will be a day of sightseeing with Kuya DonDon, Ate Val and Kemmy.
Who needs sleep?

And Here Comes The Family

So my older brother is getting married this Saturday, and family from California will be raiding my house soon. In fact, they are all coming within the next few hours. And my house is hot. Argh.
Not that I'm complaining or anything; in fact, I like it when family is all together.
On a semi-related note, I don't talk about my brother(s) that much on my blog because, sadly, I am not as close to them as I prolly want. Some brothers are close; even "friends". My brothers and I, well, aren't so much. I think there's always been some sort of a wall or unwillingness to relate to each other. There may even be animosity towards each other (I know I certainly had my own personal issues that led me to have feelings like that towards them every now and again). I'm not going to blame my parents for fostering an environment where we didn't get closer to each other; for some brothers it comes naturally, for others, it's, well...us.
I secretly wait for the day when we (most of all I) grow up and we'll be able to see each other as normal people as opposed to brothers that fought for a long time in our respective lifetimes. Then again, maybe it's already there and I don't see it or accept it because that's only what's in my retarded head.
So where did this whole diatribe come from? Well, I was thinking about how my older brother is getting married and how he'll be moving out of the house. To be dramatic, things will never be the same again. Just a scary thought. On a self-absorbed note, it's scary that I'll be next in just a matter of months. I see my Mom getting all emotional, and while I chastise her for being that way, I understand where she's coming from.
Mainly because I feel the same way; I just do a better job of hiding it.
Well that was a mental barf if anything.

I Gots A Swag

I love it when I play a good game of basketball in the morning, and I actually win. In new-age basketball terms, I feel like I got this going on:
On top of that, I'm feeling lively and energetic, despite running about 7.5 km yesterday.
Of course for lunch I ate Burger King, which made all that exercise seem all for naught. I should wear this shirt and look in a mirror the next time I'm reaching for some junk food:
* * *
I hate being overlysensitive. I wish I wasn't such a wuss. I keep thinking as I get older I'll grow a thicker shell. Only problem: I'm getting to that age where I'm "older"
That wasn't random at all.

So, Ummm...Yeah

I'm getting married soon. Exciting and scary at the same time.

I wonder how Sharon's getting along with that thought.
