So we watched Inception today, and try as I did to concentrate on following the "dream within a dream within a dream, etc." thing, I still ended up a bit confused. I guess I'll just be doing the "oh, I got it even though I prolly really didn't" thing with people and just say that it was a great movie. It was great, though. I mean, I got it.
We then went to Arfeli's for a bbq...good times. Tomorrow with go to the Tabico's for a lobster boil...yee-uh!

This Craigslist thing is great...just sold the last remnants of our previous kitchen; the fridge.
All the stuffs from the "old house" is going. I'm really beginning to think that if we just built our own house from scratch maybe it wouldn't have been such a bad thing?

So we met with Rob, our Financial Advisor this evening. Things are looking okay, but then he started asking us questions that we couldn't answer.
Like: "so what do you guys plan on doing during your retirement?" We had no idea how to answer that (look at the title of this post to see how I answered much to the chagrin of Sharon).
I mean, yeah, the standard answer of "travel" was there, but really...what are we going to do?
Thinking about the future is scary sometimes

Undercabinet lighting? Check!
What's left in the never-ending kitchen reno? Backsplash and painting. Just found out that the glass backsplash idea I had is all sorts of crazy expensive...dangit

"Things don't happen because of fate. Things happen because you make it happen."
(Let's try this as a new motto? I wonder how long that will last)
So I went and pretended I was an electrician yesterday, hooking up some undercabinet lighting in the kitchen (no, it's not done yet).
And now my fingers hurt due to all the bending and forcing of the wires. I liken it to the time I tried to teach myself to play the guitar...the fingertips started feeling tender. Seriously, I'm much too delicate for anything it would seem

Okay, gotta hype myself up for yet another work week ahead. I hope this week isn't as long as last week's.

So Mistie was in town this weekend, so we had a get together at our place with Arfeli and Neens and Ryan. Good times as usual, but an indication came about that really is telling me that we're getting old: the high school yearbooks came out along with lots of laughs.
16 years ago we were in grade nine...16 years!
(Where's my rocking chair?)
Hope I never lose touch with my friends

Well I guess everyone saw this coming...I bought a recumbent bike 5 years ago and everyone told me, "why?" and "you're not going to use it".
Fine. Blah blah whatever.
I've sold the 'bent. It was really fun to ride though, but I guess I just lost the passion for it. I also didn't like the attention it got when I rode it. Oh well...maybe one day in the future I may lust for something like it again. Or not.
Or a MOTORCYCLE!

Tough, long day at work. Lots of people at work I really like and appreciate; but lots of other people that I could do without.
I have to learn to be stronger and in more control of my emotions (apparently I haven't met me or something)
Now I know I shouldn't be making fun of random bouts of dyslexia, but sometimes it can be amusing.
Case in point, while talking to Beevy on Goog Vids:
Me: So yeah, BeeJ, you're okay with those dates for your bachelor party?
BeeJ: Yeah, that's cool
Me: Don't worry Ives, all we'll be doing is volunteering our time at a soup kitchen. We won't be doing anything bad
Ives: Oh that's okay, I don't mind if BeeJ gets a lap dance
BeeJ: What are you talking about? We won't be doing anything bad. It's as if you think we'll be valleyganting
Me, Ives, Sharon: What?
BeeJ: You know, what's the word...valleyganting? We won't be valleyganting
Me: You mean gallivanting?
(the aforementioned story may not have happened bervatim, but it's how I remembered it and I'm still laughing about it)

Has to be...why the hell do I find it so funny and cute?

I don't know why this song has been going through my head the past few days: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VsqHYvSRago&feature=related
I hope I'm not having a stroke or something.
I also like this song (I think I posted this before), but it always makes me laugh:
"I AM SO SAD!!!"

When will the overwhelmingness end?

One thing about summer I love is eating refrigerated, sweet watermelon. If they made watermelon my size, I would definitely be doing the same as this kid:

...what is the probable amount of mosquito bites I got this weekend?
Other than that, it was a nice time at Bon Echo with Arfeli. It's nice to get away from the city every once in a while.
The next while? A few weeks from now when we go to Kevuth's Baba's cottage north of Sudbury

I have to start adjusting my attitude a lot more. I can't be a Debbie Downer all the time. My wife doesn't deserve it. Start perking up man

Almost as funny as DOUBLE RAINBOW to me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTFKjJaV15I

Going camping at Bon Echo tomorrow...I'm excited! Perhaps because I'm going to be away from work. I hope I get mauled by a bear (that way I can be off for a longer while?)

So we piggybacked on Arfeli's "Engagement Sale". Feli even wore a tiara and veil for the occasion. And success! We sold a bunch of stuff we weren't using in the house, including the dreaded stovetop. Now all that's left is the refrigerator and my beloved recumbent bike.
We sold everything but the kitchen sink! But that's because I have to finish installing it. No, really, I have to finish installing the kitchen sink. I got the faucet working; all that's left is the drain.
Here we go...

So we watched Rock of Ages and it was way less than half-bad. In other words, it was better than half-good.
The story was "eh" but the music was pretty okay. It felt like a singalong. The only problem? The lead guy was from Quebec and when he sang I couldn't help but think of Roch Voisine. And the lead girl was Maria from Sound of Music and when she sang I couldn't help but think of...Maria.
But otherwise, not too bad soundtrack (apparently I'm white with tight jeans that are bedazzled and I have big hair):
And of the course the horribly overplayed but still good: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDY2I5pni90
(Did I just spend all that time finding these songs? wtf?!?)

We also ate at Royal Meats BBQ. Not too bad actually...looks like it may be a revisit (if I was ever back in the area)

Seven years later, my Slobo is now a Fastbo: http://webhome.idirect.com/~glska/page_10.htm
Congrats Bubs on becoming a black belt! I still want to reiterate, though, that I can still beat you up*. And by "beat you up" I mean "sit on you and you can't do anything because your chest is compressing"
*Please note, that I have never "beat up" my wife. Mr. Mayagi taught me better
The sound and the Argay hand motions that follow when I hear this awesome song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7dytei-s7Ls&feature=fvw
And here I was thinking it was "One Night Stand". Uhtz-uhtz

So there's a heatwave going on right now. We turned on the a/c, but it was still much too warm upstairs.
So I had the brilliant idea of...sleeping in the basement! I got the air mattress and sleeping bag ready, along with the pillows. In theory, this sounded like a great idea.
Then I got to the actual "trying to sleep part". Didn't work. The sleeping bag was too hot. Took off the sleeping bag, it was too cold. Went upstairs to sleep, then it was too hot. Frustrating I tell you.
As I've been saying for years, my tropical genetics that would help me cope with this heat? I think it got lost somewhere mid-flight

Forgot that it could get insufferably hot and humid here. I mean, it wasn't like that today (just hot and humid), but so far this summer has not seen the dreaded heat wave yet.
So I did what any sensible fatso would do: stay indoors in my cold house. Way to live it up there chubbs!

Always been one of my favourite commercials. Kaaaaa-Naaaaaa-Dah! That priest was so arrogant, not listening to that obviously smart bearded lackey.
So we have peeps coming over today because I decided to plan last minute a party for Sharon. Sucks that I have to work tomorrow, but oh well.
Now then, I have to go mow the lawn...
