After Over A Decade...

...of getting free haircuts, I've finally decided that I should get my barber a "good quality" shaver. I can't count how many different shavers we've been through, but here (hopefully) is the last one:

I should've got a Flowbee. Just because.
Of course until the inevitable happens and it gets dropped.

New Balance 890

Got them today to "help me" run. Then I actually went for a run. Then I remembered what it's like to have thighs that feels like it's concrete.

Now imagine these on a non-athletic guy
* * *
Sharon got me two books: "Memoirs of a Geisha" and "Why Do Men Have Nipples?" Time to start a readin' again

Angry At Myself

For being selfish. Oh, and embarassed too. Bleh.

And Back

And burnt. After taking 7 hours to get there in the rain (don't ask, just we got lost multiple times) and only spending a day there, it was...fun! I ate a lot of junk again, so I have to start getting "healthy." I should have motivation, as I start my basketball league next month. I will train, hardcore. Oh yes, I will.

And For The Third Time This Year...

...Camping! This weekend and Kiran (Sharon's friend) is driving. Hopefully it will be relaxing.
Had a talk with Boss today regarding things such as the students being slackers and my eventual move to the Mississauga office. I felt bad "squealing" on the student I really dislike, but dammit I already have people I can't stand being above me and any way I can help it from being under me I will as well. I also had to endure the Boss telling me that it was because of him I have a job. Bleh. I guess it's true, so I shouldn't say much about that. But frick that, I am one of his best PHIs there, so he should be grateful to have me.
Who knows where the future will lie?

Woah

Can't remember when it's been this long since my last post. Guess I've just been thinking about stuff lately, including:
-how much money I'm spending
-spending even more money playing in the Region of Peel's golf tourney
-how long I take washing my car, and that I don't really have any pictures of it (so in the future I can look back and say, "this was my first car"). So I took one after I washed it:

LOOK AT THOSE RIMS! OHHHHHHH
-I called in sick this past Monday. I am trying to determine when else I can call in sick
-I love my girlfriend, and I wish I made more money for the both of us (well, really more money so I can buy more things I want)
-really contemplating buying more car parts for my car. Although it is starting to die down, as the harsh realities of "saving" are coming to light and that a car is just a car
-planning my trip for California, which in itself is going to be quite expensive
As you see, a lot about money has been on my mind. I always say I've never been the type to think that hard about money but sometimes you don't have a choice. And I want to be a furniture maker as my next career? Yikes

Being Tourists in Eastern Ontario

That's the role Sharon and I played as I held her "Romantic Birthday Celebration in Gananoque and Kingston." To briefly summarize:
-picked her up at 6:30am, and surprised her with an Itinerary of Fun and made her wear the "Birthday Girl" tiara
-stopped at Tim Horton's along the way. Realized that we had to be in Gananoque to catch a 10am boat, and had to be there in 45 minutes. Proceeded to drive there averaging 140km/hr
-got there at 9:50am. Quickly gave her a brown dress belt as Surprise Gift #1. Didn't fit her. D'oh! Anywho, I think we were the last passengers on the boat. Proceeded to sweat it up as a lot of running was involved
-went for a cruise around the 1000 Islands. It was cold and windy, but it was still nice
-got dropped off on Heart Island on the American side. Did the Boldt Castle tour thing. Nice place, albeit not completely renovated. We also had our picnic lunch there
-returned to the boat and completed the tour. There are a lot of really rich people inhabiting the 1000 Islands as their summer homes. I am never going to be one of them
-returned to Gananoque, and checked in at Manse Lane B&B. Nice place, weird guy running the place. Rested up a bit, then proceeded to Kingston
-went for a Trolley Tour around Kingston. Saw a lot of weddings taking place. My goodness
-ate at Minos Restaurant. Absolutely awesome food, including the flaming Saganaki. I also gave her surprise gift #2, a headlamp for camping. She thinks it is the best gift ever. Score!
-went for a "Haunted Walk" around Kingston:

Ah-roooooo-rooooo-roooooo-rooooo-roooooooooo!
We had the worst tour guide who was so nervous and didn't exactly have good story telling techniques. It did, however, give us good exercise especially after the huge dinner
-went to 1000 Islands Charity Casino, and it was quite the charity. I won $75!
-went back to the B&B and slept. I did, anyway. Sharon didn't. Apparently it's due to my snoring. Oh, I did give her her final surprise gift: a ring! (RingPop)
-woke up, had breakfast and was joined there with these two old English ladies. Frikin' hilarious listening to them tell their stories, especially the one where her ex-husband had a hard time "getting it up."
-left Gananoque, drove a scenic route which included a ferry ride to Prince Edward County
-dropped by Big Apple in Colborne and got a pie
-got home and realized that I am one of the luckiest guys in the world to have such a wonderful person.
All in all: (big happy face)

My Day Off

And yet I still go to work. But I needed to because I was using the colour printer at work for a "surprise for Sharon." Hope she'll like it and this weekend!
Part of the surprise, though, was buying two cupcakes. I forgot them in the fridge at the office. Who knew that forgetting two cupcakes would be so devastating?

Getting Set

For this weekend. Hoping it will be super neat (as my girlfriend says).
Starting to get colder here...you know what that means. Snow!

Ugh

Is the feeling in my stomach after eating out yet again. This time, however, I couldn't help it as it was Ivy's "dispadeeda" as she is going to Atlanta on Friday for four months.
This weekend seems to be shaping up, just gotta make some calls and hopefully it goes through...

Here I Grow Again

My waist, that is. I just ate wings like it was in a feeding trough at The Firehall in Oakville with the work crew (sans Sharon who was karateing). Good times. I like my work crew, albeit there is nothing more to talk about either than work, which I do find sad sometimes. But whatever.
Tomorrow. Gym. For sure.

Becoming More Of A Man

Bought my first high-quality heavy duty power tool today, the DeWalt DW959K2 18V cordless drill:

Is it possible to get horny over a drill?
Now I know why Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor grunted when it came to tools. I decided to get a very good drill because I wanted one that will last, and one that will make me a poseur contractor. Can't wait to start decking!
Man oh man, I just keep on spending this summer. BUT, I swear I rationalized that it is all stuff that I will need now/in the future. Oh yes, I'm that good.

Clubbin' Til 5am?

I think I'm getting much too old for that. Yet, I did last night with Ken, Krista, Melissa, Andrea and a couple other people. The night started off with typical drama from a certain individual in the Mississauga office. Gayness, really. Ended off with eating some of the best McDonald's I've ever had at 345 in the morning.
* * *
Sharon says no. I say yes. Thus, it will be a semi-yay. YA!
* * *
Bought my long-wanted inflatable swimming pool with filter. I'm just getting all the things I've ever wanted. What a great life I have!

That's me with my family. I'm white

Power To The Point

So part of my "performance objectives" for work include taking an introductory class to Powerpoint. A whole-day class. Oh man, I was dying. I guess it beats working, but sometimes it's not a good thing when you actually have a lot of work to do (which I feel I do have). Speaking of work, my goodness that student of mine irritates the hell out of me.
* * *
This new phone is sort of driving me crazy. Nothing I don't think will ever beat the Ericsson T18z. The voice dialing, the custom rings, the ease of use (of course I say that after getting used to it for 5 years). This new phone really has nothing on it, except, hopefully, the lack of brain tumour capability.
* * *
I think I am going to buy my long-wanted inflatable pool. I saw it at The Bay for 40% off and with Tita Viola's card, it should bring it to a comfortable purchasing price. This baby even has a filter...yee-uh.

Deck Builder?

So I ended up hearing Kyle, the weird guy at work, saying he needs help with his deck. Me thinking this is a great time to "practice" I volunteered.
That being said, I should probably know a thing or two on how to actually build the damn things. So I bought me a "1-2-3-Decks" book from Home Depot.
I am determined to start my new part-time career.

So Technological

So a couple of tech things happened in my life today:
1. I got my tablet and portable printer at work today. I forsee headaches (speaking of which I have a nasty one complete with sinus pressure and runny nose). I also have to get a bag for it, which I will at MEC (yeah you know me!).
2. I ordered a new phone and got a promotional phone plan for cheap! First the plan: I get 6 months unlimited calling for "free" ($6.95 system access, $0.50 911 access, $8.00 for voicemail and call display) and I get my old plan back afterwards. The only drawback? I have to sign an agreement for two years, which I don't really mind because I figure I am not going to be changing phone companies anytime soon. As for the phone:

I think these phones are about to make love
Motorola V180, regular price $200. My price, including tax? $28.75! And it will be shipped to me with a new SIM card (which will technically be my extra one). Hey, it's good to be a loyal customer (5 years and counting). Then I think about how much money I actually spent for phone service these past few years...whew ($43/month times 5 years).
Technology is great! It even gives you brain tumors!

I Hate It When...

...I get into "disagreements" with my girlfriend, especially when the topic involves anything to do with family and our wedding.
So I ended up assessing my "financial situation" for the next little while. I am going to need extreme discipline in order to pull this off.

Taste Of The...Airport Rd.?

So the Taste of the Danforth is going on right now, and to celebrate it, I ate a pork souvlaki dinner at Zet's on Airport Rd. Not quite the original, but damn good.
This is the day I convinced my girlfriend that a pearl necklace would go with her dress. She was upset because I was right. Hey, what can I say?

Sore

Forgot how that worked-out feeling felt like. It's like a new sensation to me again, and I like it. Hopefully I continue with it again.
I spend too much money on food. At least I'm trying to eat more healthier.
I love dance class with Sharon and all, but I don't particularily enjoy chacha. I'd prefer it if they taught "bruschetta."
Work is getting awfully busy. Bleh.

Movie? On A Wednesday? With Sharon?!?

Hey, weirder things have happened. Anywho, we watched Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I give it a 3 out of 5 (which is also the same as 6 out of 10 or 60%). I dunno...maybe because I knew what was coming up next/what was supposed to happen next that ruined the flow of the movie for me. But Tim Burton did an okay job wrapping up loose ends from the original movie that I always wondered (like what happened to those kids afterwards?). I did find the Oompas amusing though, all played by the same guy, Deep Roy:

No, he is not related to Sharon
I wonder if I have what it takes to be an actor in the future. Hey, you never know; a middle-aged Filipino could be in demand the next couple of decades, and I may just have to do it.
Yes, I honestly think about these things sometimes.

(Not) Long (Enough) Weekend

I'm just complaining cause I don't feel like going to work tomorrow. I just came back from watching the Mike Nadal Quartet at Jack Astor's; they were good. I also spent part of the day working on the garden of my future parents-in-law. It was a really hot and humid day; by the time I was done it looked like I ran 10km.
Okay, I really, really have to go to the gym tomorrow. It's been way too long. Time to start hurting my muscles again!

It Was Meant To Be

I mean, how often do you go to a store (let's call this said store "Winners") and find a last pair of shoes that are your exact size and brand spankin' new? In addition to that, the colours are kick ass (in my opinion; hey, it matches my real Lacoste shirt!) and it's really comfy. And at 40-60% off the regular retail price, how can I go wrong? Just to make sure, I called Arvin to tell him to dissuade me from buying the shoes, but he told me to get them (as an aside, I told Sharon the story of how I asked Arvin to tell me not to buy it but then he told me to buy it instead. Sharon asked why I didn't call her. I told her because she would have told me not to buy it). Naturally, it was meant to be. So without further ado, the latest pair of shoes to my collection, the Pony Downtown:

Perfect for Halloween
Comeon, pretty, no?
* * *
So Sharon, myself, Arv, Mike, Ian (and later on Jeff, his sister, Riz, Angela, Maria) went to Babalus. It was fun dancing salsa, merengue and brushetta. By the end of the night I was exhausted, especially considering I biked all the way to Lola's earlier in the day. But regardless, it's a very, very nice feeling dancing with the girl you love.
